China is used as a scapegoat as our leaders cannot fix our problems.
We're the victims of our success. An affluent country has to protect their citizens with environment protection, social welfare, workers... These would make us less competitive. We have to give up some labor-intensive sectors and concentrate on high-techs that China is making wave now.
Eventually China will be wealthier and it has already shipped some factory jobs to low-wage countries and the pollution too.
