To me, human rights are prioritized as Food, Shelter, Medical Care, Freedom, Work... The welfare here is so generous, so some addicts may want to place "right to buy drugs" before Food.
"Live free or die" is fine in developed countries where no one dies of hunger so they cannot understand.
My friend wondered why the west fought for his 'right to work as a child' while his compensation was the only meal for the day. The answer is: those folks never taste hunger so they are thinking within their own box.
