Zero deficit

Zero deficit can only be achieved by Total Incomes = Total Expenses

Every voter likes to pay less tax and receive max. benefit.

40% do not pay Federal tax and our major expenses are our endless wars and generous welfare.

What is the REAL solution? Borrow from foreign countries and jack up the money printer. Let our children and their children pay for the debts. We do not care about them.

Blowing my horn

* Harvey shows both the good side and bad side of human. The preacher is having a hard time to explain why he did not open the door. Knock, the door will be opened (if you tell them you want to donate). Well, if I want to defend him, he has to let me and other refugees stay in his 5 M mansion for a week. The owner of a mattress firm got my vote to be a real preacher.

* The average inflation is about 3%. Hence if the GDP growth is less than 3%, we have not grown.

* Britain's economy with its currency had been predicted (check out my posts here). It is just the beginning. Check how many HQs are moving to EU.

* All food companies will suffer when they compete for prices (i.e. lower profits for these companies). Another case of stupid companies doing stupid decisions.

* Buffett could turn back the fund from mediocre returns. I do not know whether Harvey would put a dent on the profit. As a joke, he could have saved the company billions minus $10 for the book Scoring Stocks by buying Apple instead of IBM. I started with IBM as an example, found its low score and switched to Apple. Lucky me!?

GDP per capita

That's why GDP per capita is important. Improving GDP does not mean improving living standard.

To illustrate, we have one smart Indian engineer in. He contributes double the GDP of an average worker. However, he brings his non-productive grand parents in. We end up losing GDP per capita instead of gaining.

Why not Chinese? The smart one could steal our secrets.

Why not Mexican? I have already offended 30% of the world population in one simple example.

Business partners

Mexico - US should be good partners as the US can use a lot of cheap labor plus the close proximity.
So is China - US.

Mexico - China should not be good partners as they manufacture similar products using low-wage labor. However, China is moving up the value chain.

If Mexico with no tariff and cheaper transportation cannot compete with China in the labor-extensive products, they really have some problems.

On tax reduction

As in every decision, there are benefits and drawbacks.

Will lowering the corporate taxes would lure corporations return to the US when they're paying peanuts with their HQs in some Caribbean islands? We need at least to tax the profits they make in the US.

Will lowering individual tax reduce the giving up the US citizenship by the rich? I hope they do not take out the charity deductions otherwise the camels (Buffett and Gates for example) will not go thru the eye of a needle.

I belong to the middle class and am being squeezed by both sides. The rich have many options to save taxes (Trump may pay far less taxes than I in the next 5 years) and the poor are asking for more benefits. We really need to encourage the poor to work with very low taxes and punish the able welfare recipients.

Our major expenses are our endless involvement in wars and generous welfare. Where can we get money to fund these plus the infrastructure projects after the tax cuts? Politicians have REAL 'answers'. God help us please!

Unemployment rate

Being mathematically incorrect but practically correct, 5% is full employment. The 5% are folks who collect welfare, some able and some deserved. In some countries where if you do not work, you do not eat, their 'full' employment is 1%. We also do not count those who give up.

Welfare is supposed to be a temporary safety net to most. Many times we have counted folks taking two or more jobs more than one time.

Are we better this time? No, it is due to our lower average salary compared to 2007, not to mention 2000, which could be the peak. Also we have to factor in inflation (about 3% average annually).

America trade treaty

We participate by charging a fee when their products pass the US.
