We're suckers

We should give zero to NATO except giving discounts for buying our weapons. We should not aid Japan and all the countries that have higher living standard than us.

Euro and Pound should be up this year. Even with the current rise in the stock market in Europe, more money will be directed to European stocks. There are still more bargains than the US.

Modern math

From my family, I know 1 + 1 = 4.

Just in case you're dumber than I (IMHO, no one is), the other 2 are children. It is applied math.
In China, it is 3 due to the one child's policy.

H B 1 should be H B N, when the HB1 brings in his family and grand parents. Again, applied math. Yes, politically correct if not bringing all the relatives. (Editor: H B1 should be H-1B). Joke of the day.

Our kids will develop big fingers, quick mind but small brains. Do not worry, we still have Zuckerberg... and all the lawyers to defend us as the article says.

Read an interest article comparing US and China (one run by lawyers and the other by engineers). If we do not know what's wrong with this great (at least once) country, how can we know how to fix it?

While their 10-year-old Chinese programs video games, our kids play video games all day long.
Wake up as enemies are at the gate!!!!

My friend said the US kids cannot do math

My reply:

Make it a little harder.

You should be able to count to 20 without the socks on.
When you can sign your name in any language, you're literate.
When you can write your full name in any language, you're very educated.
When you do not collect any welfare, you're in the middle class.
When you do not say 'fxxk', you're in the upper society.
When you're only 100 lb over weight, you're very fit and are envied by your neighbors who are 200 lb over weight.

I wrote the above at the sip of the coffee. So there should be more. I call it permissive society. Or, this is how our politicians fix our problems by setting lower bench marks.

Tiger in the wood

Tiger Woods is another business case of "smart folks doing stupid things". Did he graduate from college? All his fortunes (via sponsors) may be gone by now. Will the kids still say "I'm Tiger Woods"?

Like a lady

When we have large fluctuations such as last several days, the market does not know what direction it is going. When it does, it would be a long term trend. To me, it is risky.

On global warming

1. We're one of the few countries that oppose the theory on global warming.

2. Did the previous leader make a mistake? If it was, it is not a surprise. We used to pay to buy influences.

The consequences.

1. The US companies that produce anti pollution devices will lose. Some industries such as coal miner will gain.

2. We lose credential: One change of political party in leadership would change our previous stance.

3. The selected scientists may be right. But, if they are wrong, then we could be too late to save the environment.

4. Since we have more pollution-less industries (like designing a mobile phone), we will gain less than China (like manufacturing a mobile phone) in making restrictions in producing pollution gases. However, Trump's argued that we did not get a good deal. He could be right on this.

Infrastructure

With Trump's infrastructure projects and China's "One Belt, One Road" Initiative, these companies should fare well: GE, HON and CAT.

China's C919 jet will use GE's engines and HON's aviation control.

My friend's HON dividend (via the company's option) check is more than his social security check. Picking the right company to work could be the best retirement choice. Many of my other friends worked for the defunct DEC get zero and their options are worthless.
