Human Rights.
Why we do not complain on the human rights violation of Saudi Arabia who has far more violations than China? Same for India and how we treat native Indians.
China has many extra help to minorities. They did not and do not have ‘one-child’ policy and they have extra credits applying to college. China’s minorities benefit from the poverty alleviation program more than the general citizens.
I have been to Western China many times. I saw their heritages had been maintained with dances, songs customs, etc. It is important to have an official language (Mandarin) to be integrated to the rest of their country, but they do have their own language as a secondary language.
Infrastructure such as train to Tibet and high-speed rail to Xinjiang which are not profitable but greatly improve the living standards. Most Chinese enjoy low-cost medical care and compulsory education. Before the ‘liberation’, only monks could have an education.
You can cherry pick the concentration camp and forced labor. This is minor and greatly exaggerated. Suppressing the extremists gain the peace for more than 3 years as of this writing. Most citizens in Xinjiang prefer to have a peaceful life.
On the other hand, we do not treat our minorities. If we do, we would not have “Black life matters’ movement. Go to any reservation, and you will most likely find there is no running water, no electricity, no basic health care but a lot of drunks. How many Indians have been killed since the founding of the country?
Do you want to be a Xinjiang citizen or a native Indian? The living standard of a citizens in Xinjiang is far better than our native Indian for sure. Most of these ‘concentration camps’ have been closed. However, the reservations today have no improvement.
Huawei
Is it national security or just stop China from passing us?
We have cases of spying our foreign leaders, but we have not found a single case of Huawei doing the same. I rest my case.
Hong Kong national security law
Most developed countries have it including U.S.A. What do you think if China donated money and other aids to our protesters wanting independence?
Is TikTok a threat to our national security?
What info they have about us? Is Facebook more a threat than TikTok?
China does not practice communism if this is your answer. Communism does not allow her citizens to set up shops. Judge a government by what they have improved the lives of citizens. China has lifted millions from starving to death in the last 50 years. We have let ¼ million citizens die from this pandemic.
Environment
We have shut our eyes on the possible dumping of radioactive water by Japan. That would change the genetics of fish and cause serious problems to the neighbors and eventually to the west coast of the U.S.
We accuse China on carbon-emission. We have higher pollution per capita than China even including those generated by factories manufacturing goods for export.
The trade war hurts us and the environment. The new factories in S.E. Asia do not have the same pollution-reducing measures as China did. In addition, they are not wealthy enough to buy our products, and hence increase our deficit with the world.
